Understanding the Flea Life Cycle
The fleas you see are only part of an infestation. Eggs, larvae and pupae can also be present in carpets, floor gaps and pet resting areas. Pupae are protected inside cocoons, so new adult fleas may still emerge after treatment, especially in an established infestation.
Once you can safely return, follow our vacuuming and aftercare instructions. We start by asking where you have noticed fleas, which areas your pets use and how long the problem has been present. We assess accessible affected areas and plan treatment around your property.
Depending on where fleas are active, treatment may include accessible flooring, floor edges, cracks and gaps, pet resting areas and suitable outdoor areas. We use products registered for the intended use and follow their label directions.

Preparing for Flea Treatment

- pick up items from the floor so we can reach the areas that need treatment
- wash pet bedding and suitable soft furnishings as instructed
- make pet resting areas and other places with flea activity accessible
- follow the preparation and access instructions we provide for your property

What to Expect After Treatment
You may still see newly emerged fleas while pupae already in the property finish developing. The amount and duration of activity vary with the infestation and conditions at your property.
Follow the re-entry and ventilation instructions we give you. Resume vacuuming when advised, keep pet bedding clean and continue the flea-control program recommended by your veterinarian. Check with us before washing or steam-cleaning treated flooring, as cleaning too soon may remove the treatment.

Pets and Flea Reintroduction
Treating your home does not treat the fleas living on your pets. Without suitable pet treatment, those fleas can keep laying eggs and restart the infestation. Speak with your veterinarian about flea control suited to each animal, and coordinate it with the property treatment.

Why am I still seeing fleas after treatment?
Flea pupae can remain protected inside their cocoons during treatment. New adult fleas may continue to emerge afterwards, especially where an infestation is established. If activity is not reducing or you are concerned, call us so we can review the response and discuss whether a follow-up visit is needed.
Do my pets need flea treatment as well?
Yes. Treating the property does not remove fleas from your animals. Untreated pets can keep laying flea eggs around the home and restart the infestation. Ask your veterinarian about suitable flea treatment for every pet and coordinate this with your property treatment. Pest-control products used on the property must never be applied to an animal.
How should I prepare for flea treatment?
We may ask you to vacuum carpets, floor edges and affected areas, wash suitable pet bedding, clear items from the floor and give us access to the places where your pets rest. We will provide instructions for your property before the appointment, including any precautions for people and pets. Follow those instructions when preparing for the service.
Will one flea treatment always be enough?
Not always. The result depends on how established the infestation is, access to affected areas, cleaning and whether pets receive suitable flea treatment. Pupae already present can continue to release new adults after the first visit. If flea activity is not reducing, contact us so we can assess the response and explain whether further treatment is needed.
What precautions or re-entry instructions apply?
People and pets must stay out of treated areas until the re-entry conditions for the products used have been met. We will tell you how long to stay away, whether ventilation is required and when you can resume cleaning or vacuuming.
