Lethal Pest Control provides professional termite inspections, treatments, baiting, monitoring and termite-management services across the Gold Coast, backed by more than 15 years of hands-on pest and termite experience.

Whether you need a routine termite inspection, have discovered suspected termite activity or need professional treatment and ongoing management, we can help you take the appropriate next step.

Inspection-Led Termite Recommendations

Which Termite Service Do You Need?

Termite inspection, termite treatment and ongoing termite management are different services.

A routine termite inspection checks accessible areas of the property for evidence of termite activity, termite damage and conditions that may increase the risk of termite attack.

If you have already found something you suspect may be termites, the priority is to leave the area undisturbed and arrange an inspection of the suspected activity.

When termites are confirmed, treatment and longer-term management can then be planned around the property, construction, extent and location of activity, existing termite protection and inspection findings.

Use the service pathways below to find the right starting point.

Termite Inspections

Regular termite inspections are an important part of protecting a property from concealed termite activity.

Our professional visual termite inspections examine accessible internal and external areas for evidence of termite activity and damage, together with conditions that may increase termite risk or restrict inspection.

These can include moisture, concealed slab edges, covered weep holes, timber contact, garden beds, stored materials, dense vegetation and other conditions around the building.

Following the inspection, you receive a written report with findings, photographs, inspection limitations and practical recommendations.

Found Something That Looks Like Termites?

Mud-like workings, damaged or hollow-sounding timber, unusual damage around doors or walls, or live insects within timber can all warrant professional investigation.

If you find live termites or suspected termite workings, avoid breaking the area open, removing affected timber or applying household insecticides.

Visible activity may represent only a small part of what is happening within the property. Leaving the area undisturbed gives us a better opportunity to inspect the evidence and determine the appropriate next step.

Termite Treatments

Finding termites does not mean every property receives the same treatment.

Termite species, building construction, access, previous treatments, existing termite-management systems and the location and extent of activity can all influence the treatment options available.

Lethal Pest Control provides professional termite treatments that can include localised remedial treatments, termite baiting and monitoring, treated soil zones and other termite-management methods appropriate to the property.

The recommended treatment, areas involved and any monitoring or follow-up requirements are explained before treatment begins.

Termite Baiting & Monitoring

Termite baiting and monitoring provide another option for managing termite risk and activity around suitable properties.

In-ground monitoring stations can be positioned around the property and inspected at scheduled intervals for termite activity. When termites enter a station, an approved termite bait can be introduced and monitored as part of the management program.

Baiting is not a set-and-forget treatment. Stations require ongoing inspection and servicing, and monitoring remains an important part of the program.

Above-ground baiting may also be used with suitable accessible termite activity as part of a broader treatment strategy.

Termite Management Systems

A termite management system is designed to help manage the risk of concealed termite entry into a building. The appropriate system depends on the property, construction and existing termite protection.

Management options can include treated soil zones, reticulation systems, monitoring and baiting systems or a combination of methods.

No termite management system makes a property permanently immune to termites. Regular professional inspections remain an important part of termite management, even where a treatment or management system is already in place.

Building work, landscaping, soil disturbance and changes around the property can also affect existing termite protection and should be considered over time.

Treatment Doesn't Replace Regular Termite Inspections

Termite treatment addresses an identified problem or establishes a management measure, but it does not remove the need for future inspections.

Termites can establish new colonies, find concealed entry points and approach a building from areas unrelated to previous activity.

Regular visual termite inspections provide an opportunity to identify new evidence, changes around the property and conditions that may increase termite risk before they develop into a more serious problem.

If your property already has a termite-management system, its servicing and monitoring requirements should also be maintained.

Conditions That Can Increase Termite Risk

The Gold Coast’s warm, humid conditions are well suited to termite activity, but the condition of the individual property also matters.

Moisture around buildings, leaking plumbing, garden beds against external walls, timber-to-ground contact, concealed slab edges, covered weep holes, stored materials and dense vegetation can make termite inspection more difficult or create conditions favourable to termite activity.

During a termite inspection, these conditions can be identified and explained so you understand what may need attention around the property.

Termite Control FAQs

What should I do if I find live termites?

Leave the area undisturbed. Do not break open termite workings, remove affected timber or apply household insecticides. Arrange a professional termite inspection so the activity and surrounding property can be assessed before treatment begins.

Is a termite inspection the same as termite treatment?

No. A termite inspection looks for evidence of termite activity, termite damage and conditions that may increase termite risk. Treatment is a separate service used when termite activity or another management requirement has been identified.

What termite treatments are available?

Treatment options can include localised remedial treatments, termite baiting and monitoring, treated soil zones and other termite-management methods. The appropriate option depends on the property, construction, termite activity, access, previous treatments and inspection findings.

Do termite baiting systems need servicing?

Yes. Termite baiting and monitoring systems require scheduled inspection and servicing. They are ongoing management programs rather than one-time installations.

Does termite treatment guarantee termites will never return?

No. No termite treatment or management system can make a property permanently immune to termite attack. Regular inspections and appropriate ongoing management remain important after treatment.

Do I still need termite inspections if my property has a termite management system?

Yes. A termite-management system does not replace regular professional termite inspections. Inspections can identify new termite activity, changes around the property and conditions that may affect termite risk or existing protection.
